Our History
Able Crane Services started in 1977, when four partners decided to venture out and start their own business. From humble beginnings at a small shop in St. Boniface and with a handful of rented machines, Able Crane Services Ltd was formed. After many years of hard work and long hours, Able Crane Services expanded and bought their first new crane in 1980. Over the next 40 years, Able Crane Services eventually grew to have the largest and most modern fleet in Manitoba. In 2024, Skyline Crane, a leading name in the construction equipment industry, announced its acquisition of Able Cranes Services, a well-established provider of lifting solutions, strengthening Skyline Crane’s market position. With this strategic acquisition, Skyline Crane expanded its portfolio of advanced crane technologies, deepening its regional presence. This merger promises to enhance service capabilities, offering clients a broader range of equipment and expertise. By acquiring another giant in the crane industry, Skyline Crane aims to drive innovation, deliver greater operational efficiency, and cement its status as a top-tier player in the global crane industry.
